The ticking and upholstery are crafted for breathability and microclimate conditioning, starting with a wool, silk, and viscose blend for softness and airflow. Beneath, layers of British fleece wool, long-crimped horsetail, and a delicate blend of Real Shetland Wool with cashmere provide a progressive transition of comfort and temperature management, finished with a core of Real Shetland Wool and organic cotton. The spring system uses two layers of hand-nested, vanadium steel calico pocket springs (3,296 in King) that respond independently to weight and movement, while the border features coir and wool with four rows of hand side-stitching to extend the usable sleep surface and preserve the upholstery profile over time. Each mattress is hand-tufted with woollen tufts and twine to compress the filling layers into a stable, consistent depth at every tuft point.
